So I’m sure everyone will have at least a little something to say about this topic. What i find amazing is when ever anyone talks about the greenhouse effect or global warming they only mention half of the information. For example, they fail to mention that mars, what atmosphere it does have, is almost all (95%) carbon dioxide. They don’t tell you that mars has seasons and even though it has polar freezes and loose atmospheric pressure it still warms again in the summer and is not in a perpetual state of just warming or just cooling(mars has almost no water vaper .03%). They also fail to mention things like the ice caps are supposed to melt in the summer, and that they have been doing it for centuries, because they re-freeze in the winter. But anyway, I’m sure most of us agree on this issue. It is fascinating how God created this earth, the perfect balance that everything seems to be in, like the amount of greenhouse gasses in our atmosphere, is just a never ending wonder.
Well, I think it's interesting that the authors said the term "greenhouse effect," describes two different phenomena; actually it seemed to me to be exactly the same thing applied to two different scenarios. On the one hand it's good that the greenhouse effect keeps some warmth in, on the other, because of earthly changes and whatnot, it could be a bad thing, exacerbating the greenhouse effect.
I dare say we haven't even begun to grasp a hint of the complexity we call the Greenhouse Effect. I think it's odd that they would mention a road to the destruction of the world cycle, scaring everyone to believe this might actually happening. Not only is the cycle mentioned an inaccurate cycle theory, but it left out more than half of other very important variables. To name a few: where the rain falls, how high the clouds are, how dense the clouds are, what kind/weight of rain falls, all of these variables drastically change the outcome.
That's probably why no side, whether you believe in global warming or not, will even "prove" their point. I say it's more comforting to know that this world was created to glorify God. So, if that means we awe at the complexity of it, or we all go out in a ball of fire, I'm game, either way.

Well, I was considering not even posting on this topic today just to surprise you all … but I couldn't do it.
First, let me say kudos to the authors for explaining the term "Greenhouse Effect" can be used for two different phenomena (and as Amber pointed out, two very different phenomena), that they actually said, "MAY BE contributing to global warming", mentioned water in the atmosphere may be more important than CO2, and actually gave credence to natural cycles.
I think it's most interesting that biblical literate scientist think the real greenhouse effect existed prior to the flood. Before that, the whole earth seem to be a colossal temperate zone with no ice on the poles (how do you explain the discovery of woolly mammoths frozen in glaziers?) and possibly no rain but gentle mists that kept the earth moist. This environment was very conducive to dinozaurs and other species which are now extinct. It also explains why many of the biblical characters prior to the flood lived for so long, but after the flood life spans started dropping drastically.
Just some interesting things to consider. Most scientist won't, because they assume everything is just as it always has been.
Dad
dad good point about the waters. i don't think about going back that far very often but the bible pretty much describes it as a sea over the earth. i wonder what the computer modles would say about that? and how do you think that would have effected us going to space?
So, I'm on the fence when it comes to the "greenhouse effect", I would need to put more thought and reaserch into these theories. All I know is that this beautiful earth was indeed created to glorify god, and that's just what I plan to do… And try to use less arisol, and maybe plant a tree ever year:) it can't hurt. Error on the side of caution is my modo these days. Go Green…LOL! Nighty night!
