Re: Metaphysics
The most interesting thing to me in this reading was that the term Metaphysics just means "after physics" and was basically a title attributed to an untitled work by Aristotle.
Now we need to ask, is a title a substance or a property or maybe we can just stick with the ultimate question for our time of what the meaning of "is" is.
While some of these questions are certainly necessary for us to understand the world in which we live, it certainly doesn't take much at all for metaphysics to lead us down a path which Paul warns us about: "See to it that no one takes you captive through hollow and deceptive philosophy, which depends on human tradition and the basic principles of this world rather than on Christ."
