What is a Wiki Site?

Questions To All: Can we turn this front page into a whatever forum? for recent updates and suggestions on how to better the wiki? i just added collapsible text to the days of the week. does this work for everyone? Dad what do you think?

I just had this page up to get everyone up to speed on the idea of a wiki. Since everybody seems to have figured it out we can change this page to anything we need … a general question and answer or comment page would be fine.

Great job with adding the hide/show code!

This wiki's everybody's so feel free to make whatever edits you think makes it work better.

I will say, everyone needs to double check each section every now and then, because everybody is posting at a lot of different times and not always on the day that the reading took place. You don't want to miss anything … we have a very intelligent family!

According to Wikipedia, the world's largest wiki site:

A Wiki ([ˈwiː.kiː] <wee-kee> or [ˈwɪ.kiː] <wick-ey>) is a type of website that allows users to add, remove, or otherwise edit and change most content very quickly and easily.

And that is it! As a part of Wikidot.com network this Gibblet Wiki is a customizable piece of the Internet where Gibblets worldwide can edit content, upload files, communicate and collaborate, especially in regard to the daily lessons found in Kidder & Oppenheim's The Intellectual Devotional.

There are some things you need to know:

* All pages on the Gibblet Wikidot site are editable. As a Gibblet, you are allowed to edit pages in this Site, simply click on the edit button at the bottom of the page you want to edit. This will open an editor. To create a link to a new page, use syntax [[[new page name]]] or [[[new page name | text to display]]]. Follow the link to create a new page and instantly edit it!
* To get started, go to one of the weekly pages on which you want to post and click the Edit button. I have already placed headers on each page for the first week. Starting with week two, anyone can start the discussion … just type in a header for that week's topic and post. You can change everything in the main area of the page. The Wikidot language is easy to learn but powerful.
* You can attach images and other files to any page, then display them and link to them in the page.
* Every Wikidot page has a history of edits, and you can undo anything. So feel secure, and experiment.
* If you want to learn more, make sure you visit the Documentation section at www.wikidot.com
* Once you click the Edit button, you have exclusive rights to edit a page for approximately 15 minutes. If you think typing your comments for the day will take longer than fifteen minutes, you may want to type your comments in a word processor and then copy and paste them to the appropriate Gibblet wiki page.
